How My Journey Began
Back in England, I used to do a bit of motocross just for fun. When my mum and I moved to Spain, that’s where I discovered my love for karting. I’ve always loved motorsport, mostly because of my dad’s history in racing. One day, he took me rental karting at Campillos in Spain, and that’s when everything clicked—I knew I wanted to be part of motorsport.
After talking to my dad about it, he decided to put me in a karting school in Estepona. When I started, I was the second quickest driver because the fastest driver had been racing at that track for years. I went to the track every Thursday and sometimes on weekends, always trying to improve my lap times. I made loads of memories there and made some great friends too.
One day, I came up with the idea to make a bet with my dad. I told him that if I could break the outright lap record at the track, he’d have to get me my own kart. He agreed, and the next time we went to Estepona, I did it—I broke the record! True to his word, my dad got me my own kart a few weeks later.
We headed to the Lucas Guerrero Valencia Karting Circuit, where we met up with MDL and picked up my Junior X30 kart. At first, I didn’t get much testing because my dad was traveling a lot and wasn’t always in Spain to help run the kart. But one day, when he was home, we went to Campillos for a test day. Even with a broken yolk and an old engine with a stuck piston ring, I was only two seconds off the top pace. My dad and I were both really happy with that result.
Eventually, I decided to move back to England. The karting opportunities there are much better, and I was also missing my friends and family. I entered the GKL Chapter Two Rookie Karting Championship and won the golden ticket and the championship! I was super happy with my performance.
I did some two-stroke testing with MDL in an X30 kart, and when I went to PFI for the first time in their kart, I got into the 59s, which impressed the team. Since the karting scene in Britain is mostly Rotax, we also did a test with GWR at Whilton Mill. At first, I was surprised by how different the Rotax power delivery felt, but I adjusted quickly and did well. I had another test day with them and showed a strong pace, which was awesome.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to see what the future holds for me in karting. I aim to keep learning, improving, and pushing myself to be my best driver. I know there’s still a long way to go, but I’m ready to work hard and make the most of every opportunity. With the support of my family, team and sponsors, I feel like this is just the beginning of an amazing journey in motorsport.
