Round 3 Race Report - Junior Rotax Championship - PFI 31st May / 1 Jun 2025

Last weekend saw Luca Erdos compete in the 3rd round of the TVKC Championship at PF International, arguably the best Kart Track in the UK, if not in Europe!

Thomas – “Today we write a new chapter in Luca Erdos’ Karting journey. He joins Tooley Motorsport for Round 3 of the PF International Club Championship. Headed by Andrew (Drew) Tooley, a former Kart Racer with a career spanning 7 years, Andrew has used all his experience to guide young Karter’s to major Championship Titles and has achieved many successes at British and International level.”

At this stage this is a one-off outing, as we are focused on finding further Sponsorship to continue his Karting Program.

Three days of dry running and the opportunity to work with his new Team - Tooley Motorsport.

Luca – “I want to say a huge thank you to my former Team GWR where I did my first few races in Junior Rotax. They gave me a great start in karting, and I’ll always be very grateful for their support. I am really excited to be running with Tooley Motorsport at PF International, as this is their local circuit, and to rejoin my old Teammate from GWR – Joel Dixon-Cohen.”

Throughout the test day on Friday Luca was typically posting top 6 times, which is very impressive as the quality of the opposition was top-notch. Into Saturday practices and then into qualifying-; in a field of 50 + karts, Luca managed a great qualifying position in his group, inside the top 16

He started Heat 1 in P16; had a great run to P8, when at the 2nd Hairpin he was pushed wide and dropped back, finishing P18. Heat 2 and the same starting position – P16, was running P11 when he was spun around. Offending Racer was called to the Stewards Office and was penalised.

Luca started the B-Final in P2! He was making a move into the hairpin to challenge for the lead when he was hit very hard from behind, sending him over the leading kart and crashed out of the race. Luckily, he was not seriously hurt. The offending driver was immediately disqualified from the race.

Once again, Luca showed impressive pace last weekend, especially as a novice driver and was easily the fastest novice in Junior Rotax. He made a very positive impression on his new Team with his natural speed.

Andrew Tooley said: “Considering he has just started racing against much more experienced kids, his speed is very impressive; he shows real promise”

Luca is now focusing on his fitness and nutrition, as well as some new Media content for his current Sponsors.

Huge thanks to Relentless Racing, Kinetic 7, Heusinkveld and Res-Tech for their continued support.
